 |
Both of these pictures are of new consturction built in Rock Hall on the Chesapeake Bay near Chestertown and Centreville MD. Living on the water (and having an office there) affords Marilyn unique understanding of waterfront requirements. She works in all the local counties of Kent, Queen Anne, Talbot and Cecil. |

ENERGY EFFICIENT SUSTAINABLE ARCHITECTURE
While clients are now more aware of sustainable green architecture energy efficiency has always been a high priority in my projects. The increased emphasis on energy effective products, whether it is windows, insulation or HVAC systems, has meant that they are now more readily available and their costs have come down. Equally exciting is the greater variety of maintenance free products that look high end. If clients are presented with all the alternatives they can decide which options fit their needs. |
|
Renovations, remodeling, and home additions should be a fun process. While some clients can envision their remodeling project others might need a small scale model or three dimensional illustration of the home addition or renovation. Builders can be recommended for both new construction, remodeling and residential additions. |

The firm is located near the historic towns of Chestertown,Centreville, and Queenstown MD of Kent and Queen Anne's Counties. Marilyn Parks has her B.A. degree from Bucknell University and her M.F.A. from City College of New York. In 1983, she became associated with Lyndon Eaton, a Yale trained architect and Victor Koechl, a Harvard trained architect. In 1988, she formed her own architecture firm, specializing in residential architecture. Marilyn believes it is important to understand the life style needs of her clients and makes each floor plan unique to suit individual requirements. She has worked with many different styles of homes and is particularly known for making an addition look like it was always a part of the home. Because she works alone, a client is never delegated to a staff person to complete the project, be it a remodeling renovation, addition or new construction. |
There is no obligation or fee charged for an initial office visit. While some architects charge a percentage of total construction costs, Marilyn charges an hourly fee, usually considerably less than the percentage basis. She will quote a range of costs that most architectural projects fall within.
